Nice snakes are found in water

The places in which you can find snakes are extremely spread. They live in almost any landscape: in the forests of all types, meadows, river floodplains, wetlands, prairies, mountains, even in gardens and urban wastelands. The only mandatory requirement for their habitat is perennial pond. This is their main feature. Water-snakes drink many and often, they bathe regularly. They can sail far away and long, with no apparent purpose - just for the sake of the process, usually along the shore of the reservoir, not trying to get out either on land or sail away. This reptile moves across the surface of the water with characteristic style: a fixed upright neck sticking out of the water, and the body and tail undulating bent in the horizontal plane. But he swims well under water, there he hunting, and sometimes seemed to be resting for a long time lying on the bottom wrapped around an underwater snag. Frogs and small fish is the main prey of this reptile. At one time he even considered a serious pest of fish farms, although this was an exaggeration: with its modest appetites snake has virtually no effect on the number of fish fry. This is the so-called good snake. His movements during hunting graceful and swift, but even medium-sized frog could easily escape from the snake, with a few big jumps. However, for some reason, frogs do not do it at all and seemed to underestimate the danger of snakes. This snake has no special adaptations for killing prey. It is a feature of this reptile too. This snake swallows the prey alive. Although his mouth and throat are capable of strongly stretched, huge in size meal can take several hours. On the other hand, after this dinner, this snake is hungry the next time five days later. This snake can live for months without any food. Frogs and fish - the main diet of this snake, but in principle could serve as food almost any animal of appropriate size. Newts, lizards and even frogs are regularly in his menu. Demand for shelter among snakes is always high. When man comes in the habitat of snakes, they willingly settle under decks and bridges, compost heaps, the sheds, hen, bathhouses, underground and cellars and even in homes. Bites from these snakes almost painless, and often, when caught, these snakes do not bite. And in captivity or inhabiting the house, these reptiles quickly become accustomed to people and stop using their chemical weapons.
